RapidAssays has developed the generic rapid assay device (gRAD) system with the aim of providing a simplified lateral flow assay development system so that anybody can develop their own lateral flow based rapid point of sample assay without the need for investing in the expensive production equipment. The lateral flow assay developer supplies the antibodies specific to the test and RapidAssays provides the gRADs, gold colloid conjugation kits and buffers required to product the finished assay. RapidAssays also provides the readerless quantification (RLQ) system which is a homepage based software that automatically quantifies gRAD images obtained from your own imaging system including a standard flat bed scanner. The RLQ system allows for the full development or a proof of concept of a quantitative lateral flow assay without the need for investing in a reader. However If required RapidAssays has a number of off the shelve reader options available for the gRAD system, allowing for the development of a more mobile point of sample lateral flow assay.
